go to windows<idm<download the rar
ms defender will give false alert allow it
extract with winrar
install idm or if already installed close it
run patch as admin
open idm again go to registration section and enter random details along with the key provided

after update just run patch again
may get message that idm has detected counterfeit key but just ignore that
